Gentle Grounding Practices: Restorative Yoga & Midfulness Meditation

We invite you to join us for an evening of fortifying practices, designed to gently guide your compassionate and present awareness toward body and mind. The evening will feature an hour session of Restorative Yoga, led by Poise owner, Shanna Breton. Shanna's class will be followed by a one hour workshop on Mindfulness Meditation, led by Ilse Thompson.

Supportive and compassionate, Shanna's Restorative Yoga class is focused on easing the nervous system and settling the mind, while relaxing into the stretch, suitable for all levels of experience. Restorative Yoga uses fewer poses, mostly floor work, and prolonged holding – about 3 to 5 minutes. Focusing on calming, gentle stretching, and heart-opening postures, ...Shanna's class allows us to settle softly into the pose and will guide us toward bringing compassionate awareness to the body. Bolsters, blankets, eye pillows, and props are used and supplied.

After Shanna's Restorative Yoga, Ilse will offer an introduction to the origins and basics of Buddhist Mindfulness philosophy, instruction on basic meditation practices, followed by a guided Mindfulness meditation session. Finally, there will be time for questions and discussion. This short workshop will offer us a fundamental understanding of mindfulness practice and the essential tools we need to bring this spacious practice into daily life.

Because space is limited, we request your early registration by email or text Shanna @207-754-6284. Fee: $25
